Underground Raise Bore Driller

About the role

Barminco, part of the Perenti Group, is looking for an experienced Underground Raise Bore Driller to join its underground operations in Western Australia. You will work a 14:14 FIFO roster, completing raise boring that supports mine development, ventilation infrastructure, ore pass construction and production. Key responsibilities

• Operate raise bore drilling equipment to complete planned raises safely and efficiently
• Set up, align and commission raise bore rigs and associated equipment
• Install drill strings, cutters and reaming assemblies
• Carry out pre-start inspections and routine maintenance on raise bore equipment
• Monitor drilling performance and ground conditions, adjusting parameters as needed
• Complete rod handling, breakout and reaming safely
• Report hazards, equipment defects and changing ground conditions
• Work with supervisors, engineers and underground crews to meet production targets
• Maintain compliance with site safety procedures and operational standards

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Raise Bore Driller in underground mining
• Strong understanding of underground mining processes and safety standards
• Demonstrated experience operating raise bore rigs and underground drilling equipment
• Knowledge of raise boring techniques, ground control and drilling operations
• Ability to resolve operational and equipment issues promptly
• Team player who follows detailed mine plans
• Valid Manual Driver's Licence, pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screening, National Police Clearance and proof of working rights in Australia
