Manager Asset Operations Pilbara

About the role

APA is looking for a Manager Asset Operations Pilbara to join its Gas Operations West team in Perth on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Asset Operations WA, you will lead the safe, reliable and compliant operation of APA's Pilbara gas transmission and associated energy infrastructure assets, providing leadership to multidisciplinary operational and maintenance teams and managing operational risk and asset integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Pilbara gas transmission and associated energy infrastructure assets.
• Provide leadership to operational and maintenance teams, building capability, accountability and a high-performance culture.
• Ensure operations comply with safety, environmental, regulatory and asset integrity obligations.
• Manage operational risk and lead incident and emergency response across the region.
• Manage operational expenditure, contractor performance and resource allocation to maximise asset value.
• Build relationships with customers, contractors, regulators and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, reliability, availability, cost performance and customer service.

Required profile

• Significant experience leading operations and maintenance teams in energy, gas, utilities, mining or other critical infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success managing operational risk, asset integrity, compliance and safety performance.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and contractors.
• Experience managing customer relationships and balancing operational, commercial and stakeholder outcomes.
• Proven ability to lead during operational incidents and emergency response.
• Eligibility to work in Australia; background vetting (including police checks) applies.

Required skills

• Sound understanding of maintenance management, reliability and asset lifecycle principles.
• Strong leadership capability.
