Underground Charge-Up Operator (8/6 FIFO)

About the role

Orica is seeking experienced Underground Charge-Up Operators to join its Perth-based Underground Mining Services team, which supports a number of operations across the region. The positions run on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, with site accommodation and meals provided while rostered. You will deliver safe, efficient and high-quality blasting services, working closely with Underground Shotfirers and Operators.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out charge-up activities, including magazine management, loading, tying and firing blasts
• Follow drill and blast plans to ensure safe and effective execution
• Provide leadership and guidance to blast crew members
• Support the training and development of new team members
• Work with site teams to deliver service to customers
• Contribute to crew leadership and mentoring, and support complex blasting activities when required

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months' experience in an underground charge-up crew
• Current or recent Australian Shotfirer's Licence (preferred)
• Ability to work effectively in remote underground mining environments
• Positive, team-oriented approach and strong safety focus
