Underground Specialist - Digital Solutions

About the role

Orica Digital Solutions is looking for an Underground Specialist based in Perth, Western Australia, to shape the future of underground mining technology. The role combines strategic leadership with extensive travel across the AusPac region, working directly with customers and industry partners to drive adoption of BlastIQ Underground and emerging mining technologies. You will lead the commercialisation and implementation of digital solutions that improve underground mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and deliver Orica's Blast Design suite of technologies across the mining industry
• Act as a trusted technical expert and Orica representative at customer sites, championing safety and compliance with Orica and customer standards
• Support the deployment of software and hardware solutions
• Develop scalable systems, processes and procedures for the rollout of underground blasting and digital technologies across the AusPac region
• Work with Product, Engineering, Marketing and regional Digital Specialist teams to drive customer adoption through demonstrations, implementation projects, ongoing support and stakeholder engagement
• Manage early adopter programs, provide customer support and product stewardship
• Contribute to product roadmaps and emerging technology initiatives
• Represent Orica at industry conferences, technology showcases and regional marketing events

Required profile

• Experience in underground mining, including practical underground drill and blast experience
• Understanding of underground mining processes and workflows
• Project management and customer relationship management experience
• Ability to routinely travel to remote locations on an 8-days-on, 6-days-off fly-in-fly-out roster
• Willingness to work extended days occasionally, with extra days covered by days in lieu
