Truck and Trailer Body Builder Apprentice

About the role

Hercules, an Australian family-owned company founded in 1995 that designs and manufactures tipper bodies and trailers in aluminium, steel or hardox, is offering a Truck and Trailer Body Builder Apprenticeship in its customised workshop in Darra. The apprentice completes an AUM30218 Certificate III in Automotive Manufacturing Technical Operations - Bus, Truck and Trailer, combining on-the-job training with theory coursework under the mentorship of industry professionals. There are three positions available.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture, fabricate and assemble components
• Welding
• Use a range of hand and power tools and machinery
• Assemble parts and learn to interpret drawings

Required profile

• Locally based candidate, mechanically minded, interested in fabrication, welding and the heavy automotive industry
• Self-motivated, able to show initiative and ask questions; eager to learn and solve problems creatively
• Ideally: reliable transport, current driver's licence with P Plate minimum, previous relevant experience (e.g. Certificate II in Automotive or Engineering)
• Ability to pass a medical, drug and alcohol screen and police check
