Transport Allocator

About the role

Linfox Intermodal is seeking a Transport Allocator to join the team in East Arm, Darwin. In this operational role you will coordinate daily transport activities, ensuring freight movements are allocated efficiently, safely and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate daily freight allocations, collections, deliveries and changeovers to meet customer requirements safely and efficiently.
• Communicate with drivers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure transport activities comply with operational, safety and compliance standards.
• Monitor fleet utilisation and provide real‑time operational support to maximise service delivery and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, maintenance schedules and contractor requirements.
• Maintain accurate transport system data, operational records and reporting to support visibility and performance outcomes.
• Escalate service and safety incidents as required and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transport allocation, scheduling, fleet control or logistics operations.
• Sound understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management and heavy vehicle compliance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with drivers, subcontractors and customers.
• Highly organised with excellent problem‑solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining a strong focus on teamwork, safety and customer service.
• Resilient under pressure with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
• Passion for transport and logistics with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
