Tractor Spray Operator – Berry Farm, Tasmania

About the role

Costa, Australia's leading grower, packer and marketer of fresh fruit and vegetables, is looking for a motivated and reliable Tractor Spray Operator to join its Maintenance Team at its Berry Farm in Dunorlan, Tasmania. The work is casual and depends on seasonal demand and weather conditions, and flexible day and night shifts are available.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate tractors and spray units to apply approved sprays accurately to berry crops
• Operate slashing and mulching equipment
• Carry out routine equipment checks and preventative maintenance
• Prepare spray mixtures of insecticides, fungicides and herbicides according to procedure
• Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Clean and wash down machinery to required standards
• Maintain spray records, equipment logs and stocktake documentation
• Assist with equipment calibration
• Work flexible day and night shifts; all employees receive full role-specific training, and a Work Health and Safety assessment may be required

Required profile

• A current driver's licence
• Agricultural experience is advantageous but not essential
• Experience operating machinery
• Ability to work in a team, plan and manage time, and handle physical work such as standing, walking, lifting and varying weather
• Basic written and spoken English and basic computer and digital skills
