Tow Truck Operator / Tow Truck Driver

About the role

NRMA is hiring a full-time Tow Truck Operator for its Prestons depot. The operator supports NRMA members across Australia by keeping them safe and moving, responding to road service calls and helping members get back on the road. There is no accident scene response; the focus is on safe recovery and transport. The role involves a rotating roster over a 7-day week, including public holidays, with 12-hour shifts between 6am and 8pm.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to road service calls and load, transport and unload vehicles professionally, following all road rules.
• Represent the NRMA brand by understanding customer needs and offering customer-first service solutions.
• Analyse the breakdown position and choose the safest way to recover, secure and transport the vehicle in line with safety standards and regulations.
• Maintain tools, uniforms and equipment to a high standard.
• Contribute to working groups, toolbox talks, trials and committees to improve operations.

Required profile

• Full valid NSW Medium Rigid driver's licence (or higher).
• Valid Tow Truck Driver's Certificate, or eligibility to obtain one before starting.
• At least 12 months of truck driving experience.
• Flexibility to work the rotating roster, including public holidays.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of safe work practices.
• Excellent communication, active listening and teamwork skills.
• Passion for transportation, cars or trucking, or relevant industry experience, is desirable.
