Tourism Officer

About the role

The City of Bunbury is looking for a Tourism Officer to support tourism projects and initiatives that improve the visitor experience, support the local tourism industry and promote Bunbury as a destination. The officer works alongside a team and builds relationships with tourism operators, industry and stakeholders across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of the tourism sector to inform evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Assist with identifying, planning and delivering new tourism products and experiences that use the City's natural assets and cultural heritage.
• Support the planning, coordination and delivery of tourism initiatives and projects set out in the City's Tourism Plan.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of targeted destination tourism marketing and promotional campaigns.

Required profile

• A blend of qualifications and experience aligned with economic development, business and tourism.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, and a commitment to effective stakeholder engagement.
• A genuine passion for Bunbury and the tourism industry.
