Ticket Seller - Sydney Harbour Cruises

About the role

Captain Cook Cruises, part of Journey Beyond, is looking for a Ticket Seller to work at its wharf ticketing locations across Sydney Harbour. Reporting to the Reservations Manager, you will set the tone for the whole cruise in a busy marine tourism environment, working at the water's edge where every shift brings new faces and languages.

Key responsibilities

• Sell ferry and cruise tickets using point-of-sale systems, handling EFTPOS accurately and securely
• Help guests choose the right experience with clear advice on timetables, directions and boarding
• Chat with guests from all walks of life and make everyone feel looked after
• Recommend cruises, packages and special offers
• Keep queues moving and work with operational teams for smooth vessel turnarounds and on-time departures
• Set up and pack down the ticketing area to company standards
• Work safely, wear the uniform and report hazards early

Required profile

• Natural people person: warm, patient and confident with guests, including those for whom English is a second language
• Reliable, punctual and able to stand for long periods outdoors in varied weather
• Willingness to rotate across wharf locations, including weekends and public holidays
• Previous customer service experience in a busy, face-to-face setting is highly regarded; tourism, hospitality or transport experience is also valued
