Third Engineer – Permanent FIFO Position

About the role

CSL Australia is seeking a permanent full‑time Third Engineer to join the cement carrier Goliath on a 6‑weeks‑on / 6‑weeks‑off roster. The role is based in the Bass Strait and reports directly to the First Engineer, focusing on the maintenance of key engine and auxiliary systems.

Key responsibilities

• Safe operation of the main engine in accordance with class and standing orders.
• Safe operation and maintenance of the boiler system.
• Day‑work on a rotating 24‑hour gear‑turn schedule, including fuel and lube oil purifiers, air compressors, boiler feed‑water control and heat exchangers.
• Perform routine maintenance of domestic services as directed.
• Undertake any additional duties required to support vessel operations.

Required profile

• AMSA Marine Order 72 – Engineer Class 3 (required).
• AMSA Engine Watchkeeper (Class 3) CoC/CoR Unlimited.
• Minimum 6 months sea time as an Engine Watchkeeper.
• Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) – required or eligible.
• Australian citizenship or unlimited Australian working rights.
• Residence in Australia.
• Desirable: STCW safety training, work‑at‑heights certification, confined‑space certification.
