Tender & Contract Specialist

About the role

Medtronic is looking for a Tender & Contract Specialist in Sydney. The role works across all Operating Units to coordinate tender submissions and contract negotiations and to manage the customer supply contract lifecycle. It covers a portfolio of customers in the public and private healthcare sectors within ANZ, with direct contact with external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Tender management: identify, prepare, coordinate and submit tender responses, and give commercial guidance on customer procurement to support bid/no-bid decisions
• Coordinate clarification and negotiation requests, attend customer meetings, and follow up on unsuccessful tenders
• Pack tender documents for submission to tender boards in hard and soft formats, and maintain a central database of company information
• Keep communication channels open with Sales, Marketing and customer procurement, and act as a backup for other team members
• Review, coordinate and review contracts, extensions and variations, liaising with legal on terms that conflict with Medtronic's standard terms
• Execute variations within agreed timeframes and provide contract activity reports and expiration notifications to Sales and Marketing
• Maintain the contract log in the contracts repository and internal trackers

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Law or another contract-related discipline
• At least 3 years in a Tender Specialist or Tenders & Contracts Specialist/Analyst role in a medical or highly regulated industry preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and oral communication skills, and strong attention to detail
• Problem-solving, decision-making, commercial acumen, strategic agility and time management skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel
• Hands-on experience with CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) software preferred
• Vendavo application knowledge and experience preferred
