Telco Regulatory Counsel

About the role

Axiom is partnering with a leading telecommunications and technology company to hire an experienced regulatory lawyer for a 9‑12 month fixed‑term position in Sydney. You will provide strategic, commercially‑focused legal advice to internal stakeholders and support regulatory uplift programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, strategic legal advice on regulatory uplift programmes, business decisions, compliance and customer outcomes.
• Support ongoing regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with telecom laws, industry codes and emerging digital platform regulations.
• Manage regulatory enforcement matters, mitigate legal risks, supervise external resources and report to stakeholders.
• Promote compliance through team training, education and readiness for new and existing laws.

Required profile

• Qualified Australian solicitor with 5+ years of experience in regulatory and telecommunications law.
• Experience in fast‑paced environments and collaboration with diverse internal stakeholders.
• Strong commercial focus, drafting, negotiation, project management and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office tools.
