Litigation Associate (Part‑time)

About the role

Axiom is seeking a talented Litigation Associate with 3+ years post‑admission experience to work part‑time (three days per week) for a boutique litigation firm. The role provides exposure to commercial disputes, including breach of contract, shareholder and partnership issues, and director duties.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial litigation matters from commencement through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, correspondence and other court documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare client advice.
• Oversee discovery, evidence gathering and interlocutory processes.
• Prepare matters for mediation, arbitration and hearings.
• Appear in court and attend procedural hearings as appropriate.
• Liaise directly with clients, counsel, experts and other stakeholders.
• Assist with settlement negotiations and dispute resolution.
• Maintain strong file management and ensure compliance with court deadlines.

Required profile

• 3–6 years post‑admission experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
• Strong drafting and legal research abilities.
• Experience managing litigation files with appropriate supervision.
• Familiarity with NSW and Federal Court procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
