Technician – Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI)

About the role

Join Komatsu’s Fairfield PDI team to assemble, fit‑out and test brand‑new Komatsu utility and construction equipment before delivery. The role is suitable for experienced fitters or plant technicians from mobile plant, construction, agriculture or heavy‑truck maintenance backgrounds.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and fit‑out new Komatsu machinery, installing customer‑specific options and components.
• Perform performance testing, diagnose and rectify issues, and ensure machines meet quality standards before delivery.
• Collaborate closely with the Leading Hand and wider PDI team, supporting apprentices and sharing trade knowledge.
• Complete relevant job documentation and reporting while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.

Required profile

• Mechanical Trade qualification (essential) – Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel.
• Experience working on earth‑moving or heavy equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and fault‑finding skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship, able to work independently and as part of a team.
