Technical Team Lead - Introduction into Service (IIS)

About the role

Babcock is seeking a Technical Team Lead - Introduction into Service (IIS) for its Australian Defence Force Ground Support Equipment (ADF GSE) program. The role leads a high-performing team within one of Babcock's critical Defence contracts, focused on the strategic asset management of ground support equipment. It is a full-time position with agile working arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise, guiding the team through complex engineering and technical challenges.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality technical outputs.
• Plan and oversee the production of IIS articles, and produce and review documentation.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and Defence standards throughout the program lifecycle, supporting the service release of new acquisitions.
• Mentor and develop the team, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and Defence partners on sustainable engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with a Defence security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• A technical vocational qualification or certificate in a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in technical or engineering roles.
• Understanding of Integrated Logistics Support processes.
• Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the Defence industry.
• Eligibility to obtain a Commonwealth Personnel Security Clearance; the role involves US and AU export-controlled technology, so ITAR and Australian Defence Trade Controls compliance will be assessed.
