Technical Solutions Engineer

About the role

Arista Networks is seeking a Technical Solutions Engineer to join its global Customer Engineering team in Sydney. You will work in a collaborative, hybrid environment, providing Tier‑3 support and troubleshooting complex networking issues for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, resolving installation, operation, and compatibility issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
• Work closely with software/hardware engineering, product management, sales and customer engineering to drive successful outcomes.
• Capture recurring technical issues to support product quality and development programs.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of hands‑on networking experience with a broad range of protocols and technologies.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, able to triage and explain complex problems to customers.
• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Networking or related field; industry certifications are a plus.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or legal right to work in Australia.

Required skills

• Networking protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, VXLAN, EVPN, LACP, LLDP, STP/RSTP/MST, ACL, ARP, DHCP, NAT, QoS, SNMP, Sflow, IPsec, IPv4/IPv6, etc.
• Experience with troubleshooting tools such as IXIA, tcpdump, Wireshark.
• Strong Linux proficiency.
• Scripting/programming knowledge (Python, C++, Java, Perl, JavaScript, shell).
• Familiarity with cloud environments and automation is a plus.
