Technical Lead - Mobile & Angular

About the role

As Technical Lead, Mobile & Angular, you will shape the engineering behind AMP's North mobile and front-end experiences. You will lead the development and operation of production applications, giving hands-on technical leadership across solution design, architecture and complex delivery, while helping engineers build with greater quality, reliability and consistency.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with Product, Architecture, Engineering, Design and QA to turn customer and business needs into pragmatic technical solutions, guiding them from concept through to production.
• Influence how engineering is done: set benchmarks for Angular engineering practices, strengthen code quality, CI/CD, automated testing and deployment, and drive improvements in performance, accessibility, security and reliability.
• Mentor and grow engineers across internal and partner teams, explore emerging technologies and AI-assisted engineering, and clarify technical risks and trade-offs for teams.

Required profile

• Deep, hands-on Angular expertise, with experience building and operating production mobile applications and leading technical design in product-led, cross-functional environments.
• Comfortable moving between architecture and solution design, code reviews and engineering standards, delivery conversations and hands-on problem solving.
• Experience using AI-assisted engineering practices and automation to improve software delivery, quality and developer productivity.
• Track record of developing engineers, leading cross-functional delivery and explaining complex engineering decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
• Tertiary qualification in Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline is valued, with equivalent practical experience also recognised.
