Technical Engineer – Industrial Gas Projects

About the role

Join the Customer Engineering Services team at Elgas Limited and help deliver industrial gas and LPG infrastructure across hospitals, manufacturers and mining operations in Western Australia. You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning, while building strong relationships with customers, contractors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of industrial gas and LPG installations for diverse customer industries.
• Own engineering projects from concept and design through commissioning and handover.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, risk assessments and technical reports.
• Work directly with customers, contractors and operational teams to deliver practical solutions.
• Participate in site visits, equipment inspections and commissioning activities.
• Conduct assessments, site inspections and audits to improve safety, reliability and performance.
• Support incident investigations, technical reviews and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise to maintenance and operations teams to solve real‑world challenges.
• Build trusted relationships with customers and develop a deep understanding of their business needs.
• Gain broad engineering experience across projects, operations, compliance and customer‑facing environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Passion for engineering and a strong desire to develop technical expertise.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and practical solution focus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work across office, operational and customer site environments.
• Motivation to build a long‑term career with a global leader in industrial gases.
• Exposure to industrial, process, mechanical, chemical, mining, manufacturing, energy or oil & gas environments is desirable.
