Technical Director – Water Infrastructure Networks

About the role

The Technical Director will lead the Water Infrastructure practice in New South Wales, providing technical leadership across water and wastewater projects and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Guide technical practice for civil water networks, including hydraulic design, pump selection and transient analysis.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers, building the talent pipeline.
• Participate in all project phases from bidding and concept design through detailed design, tendering and construction support.
• Ensure quality‑assurance processes are followed and projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and CPEng registration.
• Approximately 20+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience with civil water networks, hydraulic/pump selection, transient analysis, buried pipe calculations and thrust‑block design.
• Strong knowledge of Australian codes and standards and excellent client‑stakeholder engagement skills.
