Technical Director – Ports & Marine

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead large‑scale, technically complex ports and marine infrastructure projects in Perth. You will provide strategic direction, mentor engineers and ensure compliance with maritime codes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver major structural engineering projects for ports and marine infrastructure, focusing on quality, innovation and client satisfaction.
• Provide technical leadership across project lifecycles, mentor engineers and support capability development.
• Ensure compliance with local and international maritime codes, manage risk and safety considerations.
• Build strong client and stakeholder relationships and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Champion innovation in structural design and represent AECOM in industry publications and conferences.

Required profile

• More than 15 years of structural engineering experience, especially in ports and marine projects.
• Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Engineering Technology) with a track record of delivering major ports and marine projects.
• Proven project management and design experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
• Advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles in marine environments.
