Development Engineer

About the role

The City of Rockingham is seeking a Development Engineer to join its Planning Department Services Team. You will apply specialist civil engineering knowledge to support and influence the City’s land development process, coordinating and assessing Structure Plans, Subdivision Plans, Development Applications and civil engineering approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and assess Structure Plans, Subdivision Plans and Development Applications.
• Provide civil engineering approvals and technical advice for road and drainage infrastructure.
• Model and implement urban water management concepts.
• Perform composite analysis and interpret technical data for complex design elements.

Required profile

• Knowledge of planning processes and statutory guidance for greenfield and urban infill development.
• Experience with project management, construction techniques and material coordination.
• Strong verbal and written communication with high‑level negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D Civil software.
• Ability to perform composite analysis and interpret technical data.
• Understanding of urban water management modelling.
