Technical Director - Design Management (NSQEP)

About the role

The Adelaide team seeks an experienced Technical Director level Design Manager to lead a major defence infrastructure project. You will shape design and delivery of a safety‑critical programme, working across Australia and the UK within a nuclear safety framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead integrated design teams, fostering collaboration and high‑quality outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership on complex process engineering systems, especially radiological waste management and supporting infrastructure.
• Guide multidisciplinary design integration, resolve technical issues, manage risks and support project delivery.
• Mentor engineers, promote nuclear safety culture and develop NSQEP capability.
• Build trusted client and stakeholder relationships and contribute to business growth.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
• 25+ years delivering complex projects in defence, nuclear or highly regulated industries.
• Chartered status or professional membership with a recognised industry body.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through design and delivery of safety‑critical infrastructure.
• Suitable AUKUS defence clearance is essential.
