Technical Director – Civil Structures

About the role

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil Structures Technical Director to lead its Queensland team. The role offers the chance to shape complex infrastructure projects across road, rail, ports and energy sectors while supporting work in other Australian states and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the Queensland Civil Structures team.
• Lead complex infrastructure projects, manage technical risk and ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships in both public and private sectors.
• Identify new project opportunities and contribute to team growth strategies.
• Collaborate with regional Civil Structures teams and other Arcadis offices on sales, bidding and delivery.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified civil structures engineer with over 15 years of consultancy experience.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale, complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership, influencing and delegation skills.
• Knowledge of Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads requirements (other state requirements a plus).
• Established relationships with contractors and government clients.
