Technical Design Manager – Bridges, Structures & Ports

About the role

Join a well‑established team delivering major infrastructure projects across bridges, ports and marine structures in Australia and New Zealand. You will lead design packages, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and act as the key interface between design, construction and client teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of design packages for bridges, marine/port structures and associated civil works.
• Act as design lead for allocated packages, accountable for scope, programme, quality and outcomes.
• Coordinate structural, civil, geotechnical, marine and temporary works inputs to produce integrated, construction‑ready solutions.
• Serve as the primary liaison between design, construction and client teams to ensure alignment on methodology, staging and constructability.
• Drive communication and collaboration across internal teams, JV partners, contractors and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• 10–15+ years experience delivering design on major infrastructure projects (bridges, ports/marine, heavy civil).
• Proven experience leading design packages through full project lifecycle.
• Strong background coordinating multidisciplinary inputs.
• Experience in complex project environments such as alliances, joint ventures or design‑and‑construct contracts.
