Team Leader - Youth Community Living Support Services

About the role

Wellways is recruiting a Team Leader for its Youth Community Living Support Services (YCLSS) program at Local Health District level, based in Newcastle West NSW until December 2027. You will supervise and coach YCLSS staff so that high-quality, safe, effective and evidence-based supports are delivered, while meeting program governance, budgetary and contractual requirements under the direction of the Program Coordinator. You will also build stakeholder relationships and carry a small YCLSS caseload, supporting participants in their transition to adulthood.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and lead team members in using innovative and supportive practices, and provide supervision and reflective practice
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, safe and effective recovery-oriented practice
• Manage the LHD caseload, including taking part in the regional selection panel
• Keep client management system data accurate and timely
• Build regional partnerships and stakeholder relationships, especially with the Local Health District
• Manage the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, end of employment and succession planning
• Implement training and staff development strategies
• Report on quality, contractual and evaluation matters

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Mental Health, Community Services, Social Sciences or a related discipline
• Understanding of mental health issues and at least 1 year of program management experience
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel for the role
• Current Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Record check
• NDIS Workers Screening Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
• Right to work in Australia

What we offer

• Pay of $53.43-$55.85 per hour (SCHADS Level 5B), with leave loading, super and salary packaging
• Salary packaging up to $15,899 and meal and entertainment allowance up to $2,650 per year
• 17.5% leave loading, paid parental leave after 12 months, and access to an Employee Assistance Program
