Team Leader – Sample Preparation

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Sample Preparation Team Leader for its Sorbonne operations. This hands‑on leadership position ensures high‑quality sample processing, efficient workflow, and safe operation of crushing, milling and robotic equipment across rotating shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily sample processing activities including sorting, weighing, crushing and milling of geological samples.
• Operate and supervise crushing equipment, pulverisers and robotic mill cells.
• Lead, coach and support a team of up to 25 technicians to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Allocate tasks, monitor workflow and ensure compliance with WHS and procedural requirements.
• Conduct quality checks and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven reliability with ability to work a rotating 12‑hour shift roster.
• Capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting sample bags up to 15 kg.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Experience in a production, processing, warehouse or laboratory environment.
• Effective communication skills and confidence in managing a team.

Required skills

• Operation of crushing equipment and pulverisers.
• Use of robotic mill cells.
• Manual handling of heavy sample bags (up to 15 kg).
