Team Leader Physiotherapist (MSK)

About the role

The successful candidate will lead the Musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient physiotherapy department at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan. This hybrid position combines direct clinical work with non‑clinical leadership responsibilities, ensuring high‑quality MSK services for patients and supporting First Contact Practitioners in local GP surgeries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the MSK outpatient physiotherapy service.
• Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary physiotherapy team.
• Deliver 70% of time in direct clinical practice and 30% in managerial and project work.
• Coordinate service improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning.
• Support clinicians working as First Contact Practitioners in GP settings.

Required profile

• Qualified physiotherapist with substantial MSK experience.
• Proven leadership or team‑lead experience in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to balance clinical duties with operational management.
• Welsh language ability is desirable but not essential.
