Teacher of Automotive Mechanics (Light Vehicle) - Paid to Learn

About the role

TAFE NSW is looking for a teacher of Automotive Mechanics (Light Vehicle) to join its Wetherill Park Campus team on a permanent full-time basis. The role inspires the next generation of students and sits within a diverse, collaborative environment. Candidates who do not yet hold a VET teaching qualification can be paid to learn during a 14-week course, with guaranteed work after successful completion.

Required profile

• Appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications, including a minimum of Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• A Fair-Trading NSW tradesperson certificate (Motor Mechanic) or eligibility to obtain one if applying from interstate.
• Evidence of a teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training, or willingness to complete the 14-week paid-to-learn course.
• At least five years of post-qualification experience in the industry, gained no more than five years ago.
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a New Zealand passport; a Working with Children Check is required.

What we offer

• Salary package of $111,798 to $132,585, with a base salary of $98,499 to $116,813 per year depending on experience, plus employer superannuation and annual leave loading.
