Tax Accountant – SME & HNWI Focus

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Tax Accountant to join our well‑established, multi‑discipline accounting firm in Perth. Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will work with prestigious SME, LSE and high‑net‑worth client groups, delivering high‑quality tax and compliance outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax and compliance documents, financial statements and returns for companies, trusts and SMSFs.
• Review BAS, GST, CGT and FBT calculations and returns for a diverse client base.
• Supervise, mentor and review work performed by interns and graduates, presenting findings to senior staff as required.
• Resolve client queries promptly, conduct tax research and provide clear guidance.
• Utilise workflow tools efficiently within budget, using Xero, XPM, MYOB, QuickBooks and BGL.
• Adopt a proactive approach to training, problem‑solving and work optimisation, including AI‑driven solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CA/CPA Australia qualification or near completion.
• 3+ years of experience in Business Services within Australian public practice.
• Experience managing junior staff.
• Strong understanding of trusts and multi‑entity groups.
• Thorough knowledge of current tax laws and statutory regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and time‑management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia.
