Systems Security Engineer

About the role

As a Systems Security Engineer at HUB24, you will design, implement and coordinate security initiatives across our cloud, on‑premises and hybrid environments. You will work closely with architecture, engineering, development and operations teams to embed secure‑by‑design practices and improve our cyber resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse HUB24's security posture, identify gaps and recommend improvements to controls, processes and capabilities.
• Design, implement and coordinate security solutions such as EDR, vulnerability management, PAM and IAM across cloud and on‑premises infrastructure.
• Lead security initiatives aligned to the Cyber Security & Governance roadmap and support Security Operations with technical escalations.
• Conduct security reviews, provide guidance for secure‑by‑design development and contribute to policies, standards and frameworks.
• Assist with audit, regulatory and compliance activities, including gap analysis, vulnerability management and threat & risk assessments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in cyber security, systems engineering or a related technology role.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and mentor junior team members.

Required skills

• Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms.
• Vulnerability Management and VMDR tools.
• Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions.
• Security Monitoring, SIEM and EASM platforms.
• Microsoft Purview and related security technologies.
• Experience with cloud (AWS/Azure) and on‑premises infrastructure, networking and security technologies.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST and ACSC Essential Eight.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and operational support processes.
