Surfacing Supervisor

About the role

Downer, an integrated services provider in Australia and New Zealand, is looking for a permanent full-time Surfacing Supervisor based in Gillman, South Australia. The role leads surfacing crews and oversees the safe and efficient delivery of asphalt and profiling works across a range of projects. Experience in the roads industry, especially with asphalt and profiling, is highly regarded.

Key responsibilities

• Lead surfacing crews
• Oversee the safe and efficient delivery of asphalt and profiling works across multiple projects
• Identify opportunities, improvements and solutions for the business
• Drive accountability throughout the workforce and build relationships with key stakeholders
• Promote occupational health and safety in line with industry regulations when working with operational and engineering teams

Required profile

• Exposure to the surfacing industry, civil road construction and road maintenance
• A positive safety culture
• Proven planning, organisation and time management
• Ability to lead and hold the workforce accountable
• Understanding of occupational health and safety regulations for the road industry
• Willingness to work day shifts, night shifts and weekends, and to work away from home
