Support Worker - Community Aged Care

About the role

Uniting Communities, a growing not-for-profit organisation in South Australia, is looking for Home & Community Aged Care Support Workers in Port Lincoln to help older people stay safe, connected and independent in their own homes. The role suits students, return-to-work parents, career changers and caring people, and offers flexible work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical assistance, companionship and support to customers and their families
• Assist with personal care, including dressing, showering and grooming
• Support customers with medication assistance
• Plan and prepare meals
• Encourage social connection and community participation
• Help with light household tasks such as cleaning and vacuuming
• Contribute to customer support plans and goals

Required profile

• Current driver's licence and a registered, insured vehicle less than 20 years old
• Roadworthy vehicle test required before starting (at your cost)
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Caring, dependable and eager to learn; able to work independently and build strong relationships
• Previous aged care or community care experience is helpful but not essential

Required skills

• Certificate III in Individual Support, Community Services or a related qualification
• Current studies in Social Work, Nursing, Allied Health, Community Services or similar
• Strong time management and communication skills
