Supervisor – General Services & Housing

About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Supervisor for General Services & Housing to lead a team of trades personnel delivering building and construction activities for commercial and residential infrastructure at the Ranger Project in Jabiru, Australia. Reporting to the Superintendent General Services, the role ensures that construction work aligns with project schedules and is performed safely and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor subcontractor activities across multiple trades, ensuring adherence to schedules, resource plans and material requirements.
• Review and sign off daily contractor risk assessments and permits.
• Lead pre‑start meetings covering quality, safety, best‑practice methods and hazard identification.
• Manage the impact of construction operations on external interfaces, including energy isolation.
• Ensure subcontractors comply with HSE and quality policies and project‑specific work rules.
• Support mid‑size projects involving several stakeholders, maintaining clear communication and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising construction or general services teams on site.
• Strong understanding of HSE standards, risk assessment processes and permitting.
• Ability to plan, monitor and adjust construction schedules and resource allocations.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with subcontractors, stakeholders and senior management.
