Structural / Electrical Engineer - Transmission Lines and HV Substations

About the role

Zenviron, a joint venture between Monadelphous and ZEM Energy, is seeking a Structural or Electrical Engineer to join its engineering team in Newcastle, NSW. The role supports the design and delivery of major renewable energy infrastructure projects, covering transmission line design and HV substation and BESS structural design, including foundations and steelwork. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLS-CADD models for overhead transmission line design, validating survey, terrain and design inputs
• Prepare and review design deliverables, ensuring constructability, compliance and coordination with civil and electrical teams
• Design and verify foundations and steelwork for HV substations and BESS facilities, including key structural components
• Coordinate geotechnical, civil and electrical inputs to deliver practical, buildable solutions
• Support procurement and subcontractor processes, including RFIs, design clarifications and vendor reviews

Required profile

• Degree in Structural or Electrical Engineering, eligible for or holding CPEng and state-based professional registration (e.g. RPEQ, RPEV)
• Experience using PLS-CADD for HV transmission line design
• Experience in HV substation foundation and steelwork design
• Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1170, AS 2067, AS 3600, AS 4600, AS/NZS 7000) and Network Service Provider requirements
