State Manager – Recruitment Leadership

About the role

Design & Build is seeking an experienced recruitment leader to own and grow its WA business. You will inherit a healthy team, an established client base and a recognised brand, and will be responsible for building one of WA’s leading specialist recruitment firms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the existing WA recruitment team.
• Build and manage a high‑performing specialist recruitment market.
• Develop client relationships across WA and attract experienced recruiters.
• Set standards for activity, performance and accountability.
• Identify new markets and growth opportunities while protecting culture.
• Own WA strategy, P&L and transition personal billing to focus on leadership as the team expands.

Required profile

• Strong background in specialist recruitment within the WA market.
• 1‑2 years’ experience leading a small team.
• Proven personal billing track record.
• Ability to win work and build lasting client relationships.
• Genuine interest in developing people and growing a business.
• Leadership style aligned with values of Honest Communication, Focus, Feedback and Care.
