Staff Specialist - Mental Health (ICYMHS)

About the role

Albury Wodonga Health is seeking a Staff Specialist to join the Infant, Child and Youth Mental Health Service (ICYMHS) at its Wodonga and Wangaratta sites. The role supports the clinical services team and provides supervision, support and direction to the multidisciplinary ICYMHS team, ensuring continuity of care and promoting effective admission, discharge and case management practices. It is a full-time, onsite position.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist support and supervision to fellows, registrars and junior medical officers
• Teach medical students from the University of Melbourne and students from other disciplines and institutions, as negotiated
• Contribute to clinical teaching and support clinical services

Required profile

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
• Experience providing direct clinical care for adults and youth in community and acute inpatient mental health services
• Experience providing clinical supervision to other health professionals
• Understanding of contemporary mental health service provision in Australia and of the Mental Health Act 2022
• Accredited in Victoria to perform ECT, or willing to achieve accreditation
• Willingness to share weekday and weekend on-call rosters
