Mental Health Transition to Specialty Practice Year 2

About the role

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) invites Registered Nurses with recent experience (Combined Graduate Program or other similar Mental Health experience) to apply for its Mental Health Transition to Specialty Practice Year 2 program. The 12-month program runs from February and is designed to guide nurses from novice to confident and skilled Mental Health Clinician. It is offered part time (0.8 EFT) to allow work-life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Complete rotations through Mental Health Adult Acute Inpatient Units and Community teams, providing mental health support across the lifespan.
• Receive regular individual and group clinical supervision.
• Engage with Nursing and Allied Health Educators, the Mental Health Professional Development and Practice team, and experienced mentors and clinicians.
• Enrol and work towards a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing at a recognised tertiary provider within two years of the program.

Required profile

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
• Recent experience in combined graduate programs or other similar Mental Health roles.
• Ability to use electronic information systems and software used across healthcare settings.
• Willingness to complete the Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing within two years of the program.
