Staff Specialist – General Medicine & Geriatric Medicine

About the role

This is a permanent Staff Specialist position split equally between General Medicine and Geriatric Medicine (0.5 FTE each) within a progressive regional health service on the Sapphire Coast of New South Wales. The role is ideal for a dual‑trained physician seeking a balanced clinical workload and a high‑quality lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute inpatient care in General Medicine.
• Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments and manage frail older patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and case conferences.
• Teach, supervise and mentor junior doctors and trainees.
• Engage in clinical governance, quality improvement and service development activities.

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in General Medicine.
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine.
• Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for registration.
