Staff Product Security Engineer

About the role

Airwallex is seeking a Staff Product Security Engineer to join its Information Security team. You will work closely with infrastructure, product and engineering teams to design, build and operate security controls that protect the company’s platforms and data.

Key responsibilities

• Create and implement security controls that enable secure scaling of Airwallex services.
• Design and deliver security improvements across applications, software and cloud services.
• Develop detection strategies and incident‑response workflows to accelerate response times.
• Analyse endpoint, network and cloud telemetry to identify, investigate and mitigate threats.
• Investigate, contain and respond to cybersecurity incidents, performing forensics and threat hunting.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to embed security into new and existing systems.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering or incident response within a technology company.
• Deep expertise with at least one major cloud platform and strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Self‑motivated with a passion for solving security challenges in high‑growth environments.

Required skills

• Major cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Alibaba Cloud)
• Security monitoring tools such as Splunk
• DevOps/SRE experience with Kubernetes
• Identity and access management tools (Okta, GSuite, cloud VPN)
• Programming languages: Python, Java/Kotlin
