Staff Content Manager

About the role

The Staff Content Manager, Australia Materials, will own Clio's Australian legal content portfolio, treating it as a product and infrastructure layer. You will drive strategy, coverage parity, enrichment quality and operational resilience for case law, legislation and key secondary sources.

Key responsibilities

• Set and execute the roadmap to achieve coverage parity with Westlaw Australia, LexisNexis Australia and CCH.
• Define KPIs for completeness, update speed, enrichment depth and reliability, and monitor performance.
• Lead licensing, build‑buy and partnership decisions, managing cost‑to‑value outcomes.
• Collaborate with Content Ops, Data Ops and Engineering to improve ingestion and enrichment pipelines, including migration to Apache Iceberg.
• Establish standards for metadata, monitoring, fault tolerance and disaster recovery.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years in legal publishing, data operations or product/content management, with end‑to‑end ownership of a legal content portfolio.
• Deep knowledge of the Australian legal system, authorities and publishing market.
• Proven senior‑level strategy setting and outcome ownership without direct reports.
• Data‑driven prioritisation and ROI modelling experience.

Required skills

• Technical fluency with ETL pipelines and ingestion systems.
• Experience with Apache Iceberg or modern data lakehouse architectures.
• Knowledge of AI/NLP applications to legal text (tagging, summarisation, deduplication).
• Licensing and partnership negotiation skills.
