Staff AI Platform Engineer

About the role

Relevance AI is building an AI‑native platform that lets engineers and AI agents ship features at speed. As a Staff AI Platform Engineer you will own the developer experience, platform infrastructure, and reliability of the "factory" that powers every engineering team. This hybrid role (3 days onsite) is central to scaling the company’s AI‑driven automation across product, marketing and sales.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end developer experience, including build, test, deploy and local‑dev loops.
• Design and maintain agent‑safe environments with sandboxes, guardrails and context for autonomous coding agents.
• Define and monitor reliability SLOs, on‑call health, observability and incident response.
• Manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, ensuring scalability and cost visibility.
• Develop platform capabilities that serve multiple engineering teams and AI agents.
• Identify and remove systemic bottlenecks to amplify productivity across the organization.
• Share platform knowledge, educate engineers and create clear contribution paths.

Required profile

• Proven experience building AI‑native platforms, including environments and evaluation frameworks for coding agents.
• Product‑focused mindset, prioritising work that directly impacts customer outcomes.
• Deep expertise in developer experience, CI/CD, build/deploy tooling and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands‑on ownership of reliability, SLOs and incident response without relying on a separate SRE team.
• Track record of improving cross‑team processes and setting standards adopted by other groups.
• Strong belief in the mission to enable a smaller AI‑native team to out‑build larger traditional teams.
