About the role
The Systems Administrator will provide day‑to‑day systems administration and technical support for Flying Bark Productions’ studio and its active productions. You will work closely with artists, production staff and external vendors to keep the infrastructure reliable, secure and performant.
Key responsibilities
- Provide systems administration and technical support to artists and staff on a daily basis.
- Liaise with third‑party software vendors to resolve issues and request new functionality.
- Manage core infrastructure including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, public‑cloud storage and on‑premises virtualization.
- Monitor ticketing system, identify incident patterns and implement preventative solutions.
- Maintain storage servers (ZFS, Editshare) and ensure network health and security.
- Build and deploy new hardware, install software and develop scripts to automate administrative tasks.
- Support production applications such as Autodesk Maya, Foundry Nuke, Pixar Tractor, Adobe Suite, Avid MediaComposer and Arnold.
- Be available for out‑of‑hours support when required.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years senior SysAdmin experience in a medium‑to‑large enterprise environment (Linux and Windows Server).
- Experience with security standards such as ISM, AS/NZS ISO/IEC 2700X or Trusted Partner Network.
- Minimum five years managing enterprise storage systems and at least three years in a post‑production or VFX facility.
- Proven ability to work autonomously while maintaining clear communication with production and technology teams.
