Spray Painter and Powder Coater

About the role

MineARC Systems, a West Australian manufacturer of life-saving refuge chambers and related technologies for underground mining, tunnelling, petrochemical, biotechnology and agricultural industries, is looking for a Spray Painter and Powder Coater to join its Surface Treatment Team. The role involves a varied schedule of spray painting and blasting refuge chambers and powder coating all steel frames.

Key responsibilities

• Spray painting and blasting refuge chambers
• Powder coating all steel frames
• Preparing surfaces for powder coating
• Operating equipment for a batch oven powder coating system
• Using an airless spray gun for painting
• Using blasting equipment
• Assisting with touch-ups and repairs
• Using hand and power tools
• Keeping the work area and workshops clean and safe

Required profile

• C Class Australian driver's licence
• Forklift ticket would be advantageous
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to take initiative and own tasks through to completion
• Commitment to safety and quality

Required skills

• Knowledge of two-pack industrial paint systems (epoxy and polyurethane)
• Experience preparing surfaces for powder coating and using airless spray guns
