Splunk Solutions Engineer (VIC)

About the role

Cisco is looking for a Splunk Solutions Engineer based in or near Melbourne, Victoria, to join its pre-sales team supporting the ANZ Splunk Commercial business. The team works across sales, customer success, support and marketing, and the engineer acts as a technical leader driving growth and adoption of Splunk solutions with commercial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate and evangelise Splunk products and services through onsite sessions, webinars and field events.
• Lead discovery calls and conversations to identify and validate opportunities, alone or with the sales counterpart.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and partners throughout the sales cycle and beyond.
• Run on-site customer engagements, including Proof of Value/Concept demonstrations.
• Answer complex technical questions and resolve customer concerns.
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve working practices, processes and customer success.

Required profile

• Proven enterprise presales experience, ideally 5+ years, with a technical focus.
• Ability to understand complex application environments and machine data sources such as logs, security data and network data.
• Strong ability to explain complex technical solutions to customers and partners.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver customer value.
• Must be authorised to work in Australia without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of Splunk solutions and experience demonstrating their value to commercial customers.
• Working knowledge of AI concepts and practical use of AI capabilities.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies, search engines and query languages.
• Experience in security or observability solutions.
• Scripting languages are a plus.
