About the role
Join Ability Action Australia’s growing team as a Speech Pathologist supporting participants across the Newcastle and Hunter region. You will work in community‑based settings, delivering personalised therapy to improve communication, participation and independence.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload across homes, schools and outreach settings.
- Provide services to individuals of all ages, from early intervention to adults.
- Address needs such as feeding, early language, dysphagia, communication difficulties and AAC.
- Conduct observations and standardised assessments to set participant‑centred goals.
- Deliver evidence‑based therapy that builds communication and independence.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.
Required profile
- Current Speech Pathology Australia membership (SPAP).
- Passionate about community‑based support for people with disability.
- Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Required skills
- Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
- Knowledge of feeding and dysphagia management.
- Ability to conduct early language assessments and develop therapy plans.
