Occupational Therapist – Community Support

About the role

Join Ability Action Australia’s growing team to provide community‑based occupational therapy services across the Newcastle and Hunter region. You will manage a caseload of participants, delivering evidence‑based interventions that enhance independence and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an allocated caseload and deliver timely therapeutic services.
• Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function using clinical observations and standardized assessments.
• Interpret assessment findings to formulate individualized treatment goals.
• Provide evidence‑based therapeutic interventions to help participants meet their goals.
• Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPA.
• Passionate about community‑based support for people with disability.
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong time‑management and organisational skills to handle a varied caseload.
