Psychosocial Occupational Therapist

About the role

Join Ability Action Australia, a leading NDIS provider, as a Psychosocial Occupational Therapist supporting participants across the Newcastle, Hunter & Central Coast region. You will empower individuals with psychosocial disability and mental health challenges using a recovery‑oriented, strengths‑based, and trauma‑informed approach.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an allocated caseload and deliver timely therapeutic services.
• Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function using clinical observations and standardized assessments.
• Interpret assessment findings to formulate individualized treatment goals.
• Provide evidence‑based therapeutic interventions to enhance participants’ quality of life and achieve their goals.

Required profile

• Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPR.
• Passionate about community‑based support for people with disability.
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong time management and organisational skills to handle a varied caseload.

Required skills

• Ability to conduct clinical observations and standardized assessments.
• Competence in developing and implementing evidence‑based therapeutic interventions.
