Specialist Technician – ICT Support for Victorian Schools

About the role

Bytewize is looking for senior‑level Systems Engineers / Specialist Technicians to provide ICT support to Victorian schools through the Technical Support to Schools Program (TSSP). Candidates will manage complex school networks, servers and cloud services, ensuring reliable technology for staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure across Department of Education schools, including networks and server environments.
• Provide on‑site support in large, technology‑driven learning environments and deliver professional development to school staff.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of industry experience, preferably within the TSSP program or senior corporate IT support.
• Eligibility to work in Australia, current driver’s licence, and willingness to undergo police and background checks.

Required skills

• Hyper‑V virtualization administration.
• Windows and Linux server administration.
• Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 cloud service administration.
• Mobile Device Management (MDM) deployment and administration.
• Advanced enterprise networking (Cisco & HP switching) and Cisco wireless technologies.
• Standard Operating Environment (SOE) and image deployment with troubleshooting.
• Support for large fleets of desktops, notebooks, 1:1 and BYOD device planning.
• Strong technical documentation skills.

• Salary $80,000 – $110,000 pro‑rata (AUD) with top rates based on experience.
