Specialist Fitter / Diesel Mechanic

About the role

Gympie Regional Council is recruiting a Specialist Fitter / Diesel Mechanic for its workshop in Gympie, Queensland. The role covers a service and maintenance program and fault diagnosis for all of Council's plant and machinery, maintaining records and ensuring compliance with policy and procedures. The position is full time and permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service and maintain Council's diesel plant and machinery to required standards
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with policy and procedures

Required profile

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR31120) or equivalent
• Current and maintained Queensland Heavy Vehicle Driver's Licence, Class HR or above
• Current and maintained Queensland General Construction Induction (White/Blue card)
• Current and maintained Queensland High Risk Work Licence for forklift trucks (FL)
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy machinery
• Qualified and experienced fitter/diesel mechanic with fault diagnostic skills and mechanical aptitude
• Able to work independently, sometimes remotely

• Annual salary commencing at $83,102, plus a 6.5% market loading attraction allowance for a fixed term period
